After graduating with honors from Wichita State University in 1987, Nancy practiced in a variety of settings, including acute care, home health, long-term care and outpatient orthopedics. Her work experience includes Director of Rehabilitation at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital in El Dorado as well as Director of Physical Therapy at Neosho MemorialRegional Medical Center in Chanute, KS. She is licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts and is certified as an ergonomic assessment specialist, in ErgoScience Physical Work Performance Evaluations and ASTYM soft tissue mobilization. She became a co-founder of WorkSafe Physical Therapy in July 2000 and the sole owner in December of 2011.
Joan brings 42 years of experience in the PT world to WorkSafe Physical Therapy. She has worked in a variety of administrative and clinical positions in the realm of PT.
She enjoys the problem-solving and analytical challenge with each patient’s unique set of circumstances that a career as a physical therapist brings. “I receive a great deal of satisfaction when an action plan has been developed and implemented from the analysis, and the patient achieves successful results,” Joan said. “In addition to the top-drawer physical therapy colleagues with which I am privileged to work at WorkSafe, I enjoy the multifaceted settings we apply our therapy backgrounds to achieve successful functional outcomes. It is a therapist’s dream to be on the preventative side of injuries.”
Lela enjoys using her manual therapy skills to enhance patient healing and educating them. She teaches them about their injury, their healing process and encourages them to work through their rehab program to return to work quickly and pain free.
Having spent most of her career in outpatient orthopedic clinics Lela was ready to work with patients in a new setting. At WorkSafe she is excited to learn about ergonomics and gain other skills.
